Meet Our Pastoral Staff

Senior Pastor: Lamarr Mooneyham - Pastor Mooneyham has been the senior Pastor at The Tabernacle since 1986. Pastor’s heartbeat is helping to build strong Christian families. He and his wife have been married more than 30 years and have four children. Every weekday, thousands of listeners all over the country hear his 15- minute radio program “Firm Foundation."  


Associate Pastor: Isaac Mooneyham - Bringing fresh perspective and input, Isaac joins our staff with seven years of Pastoral experience.  Following his graduation from Liberty University , Isaac completed his Master's Degree from Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.  All through his undergraduate and graduate studies, he pastored in Vernon Hill, Virginia. Along with his Associate duties, Isaac also assists as a teaching Pastor.  Isaac and his wife Corrie have three children.

 

Orchestra Director: John Martin - John comes to the Tabernacle after serving churches in Kentucky, Indiana, Virginia and North Carolina. John has a Bachelor's degree in Trombone and a Master's degree in Church Music. John's mission at the Tabernacle is to help equip Believers who are instrumentalists to glorify God by being the best player God can help them be. John and his wife, Rosemary, have five children.

 

Ministry Resources Administrator: Joey Bray - Joey is no stranger to The Tabernacle, having served in various volunteer capacities for many years. Joey teaches an active couples class, Today's Family and provides administrative oversight to the ministry. Joey and his wife, Tammy, have two children (Kalli and Marissa). 

 

High School Pastor: Allen Payne - Allen graduated from George Washington High School in Danville. After trusting Christ at age 19, he attended Word of Life Bible Institute in Hudson, Florida for one year and then continued his studies in Spanish at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina . He completed a study of the language and culture and continued classes studying the Word of God in the Spanish language for three years. Upon his return to the United States, he finished his undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies at Liberty University .  His passion for the lost and young people is evident through his ministries in Bible Clubs, drama teams, and many mission trips including, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and Mexico as well as volunteering at two different Hispanic churches here in the United States.  Allen and his wife Annette, also from Danville, have two children.
