Music & Media Ministry
If you are musically or technically talented and you believe God has called you to serve through music or technology, prayfully consider joining our music and media family. The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra, supported by the Technical Crew; audio, lighting, graphics, video, etc., ministers in all Sunday services at the Tabernacle and on occasion is called upon to minister at other churches in the area for Bible Conferences or Revivals. The choir has completed two recording projects and plan to continue to produce recordings of their music. Choir rehearsal is on Wednesday evenings at 6:45, as is orchestra rehearsal. The choir is open to anyone who is a member of The Tabernacle and is at least 18 years old. No audition is necessary, but members commit to be at rehearsal each Wednesday and to be in place to sing for Sunday morning and the Sunday evening services, as well as participate in any special concerts or events. Singing solos, or participation in ensembles or Praise Teams is based on ones Christian testimony, faithfulness in choir and by vocal audition where applicable. Membership in the orchestra is based on an audition, however those not quite ready to play in the regular orchestra may join the Horizons Orchestra which is our developmental orchestra. The music and media ministry presents "Carols By Candlelight" during the Christmas season and also does other special musical presentations throughout the year. If you would enjoy having the Tabernacle Choir & Orchestra minister at your church during a rivival or Bible Conference, contact Bryant Shipton for more details. Make sure you go to our Children's Ministry page to see a slideshow of the Praise Kid's (1 - 3 Grade Choir) having fun in rehearsal and getting a sound check prior to singing in a recent service - our children's choirs meet on Sunday evenings at 5:15.
