Unwrapping Christmas

Matthew 1:18-25

Christmas’ Essential Credentials                                                           V. 1-17

Christianity is unique among the world’s religions in having prophecies about its God. Prophecy is God telling the future in advance of it happening to prove the truth of the claim being made.

“In your Seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed.”       -Genesis 22:18

Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, “And to Your Seed, who is Christ.”  -Gal. 3:16

I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel.        -Numbers 24:17

And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, and His resting place will be glorious.                                                                                                      -Isaiah 11:10

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace, there shall be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom.                                                                                  -Isaiah 9:6-7a

Christmas’ Exceptional Stepdad

Joseph didn’t act hastily, and Joseph took the time to prayerfully think things through. When you and I wait on the Lord like that, and don’t act hastily, God gives us the guidance we need – look at verse 20.

Christmas’ Extreme Miracle

But ever since Adam and Eve sinned, every human born had a sin nature, And early in life that sin nature leads to sin choices, and we are all under judgment and in need of a Savior.

Christmas’ Eternal Offer

Christmas’ eternal offer is that if you will repent and believe in Jesus, He will give you the greatest Christmas gift ever- an eternal relationship with Himself!

Christ Heartily Redeems Individual Sinners Trusting Messiah’s Atoning Sacrifice.

But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since therefore, we have now been justified by His blood, much more shall we be saved by Him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by His life.                 -Romans 5:8-10
