The Living God Became a Living Man - 1 Tim. 3:14-16
God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten not made, being of one substance with the Father. By whom all things were made, both which be in Heaven and in earth. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from Heaven and was incarnate and was made man. He suffered and the third day He rose again, and ascended into Heaven. And He shall come again to judge both the quick and the dead. - Part of Nicene Creed, 325 AD
John 3:16 tells us that God loved the people of the world so much that He gave His only Son to save those who believe in Him; 1 Timothy 3:16 is a little hymn celebrating what the Son did from the Christmas story onward.
The Living God was manifested in the flesh
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. - John 1:14
Who has ascended to Heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? Who has established the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name? Surely you know! - Proverbs 30:4
Though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. - Philippians 2:6-7
The Living God was vindicated by the Spirit
If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through the Spirit who dwells in you. - Romans 8:11
The Living God was seen by angels!
The living God was proclaimed among the nations.
And now the LORD says, He who formed Me from the womb to be His servant, to bring Jacob back to Him; and that Israel might be gathered to Him… “It is too light a thing that you should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make You as a light for the nations, that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth.” - Isaiah 49:5-6
The Living God was believed on in the world.
Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. As you sent Me into the world, so I have sent them into the world…I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word. - John 17:17-18, 20
“For You were slain, and by Your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.” - Rev. 5:9
The Living God was taken up in glory!
He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. - Hebrews 7:25
