Psalm 104 Worksheet
At 35 verses, Psalm 104 is tied for the tenth longest Psalm in the Psalter with Psalm 68. It is the second longest in Book 4 of the Psalms, behind Psalm 105 at 45 verses.
Like Ps. 103, Psalm 104 has the word bless in the first and last verses. Only 7 Psalms do that (also Psalms 41,67, 134, 144,145 – 128 comes close).
As I read Psalm 104, think about how it relates to the days of creation back in Genesis 1.
God made ______________________ and sky V. 1-4
What is God ‘clothed’ with according to verses 1-2?
Verse 4 is quoted in Hebrews 1:7, where his point is thar Jesus is _____________________ to the angels – another argument for the deity of Jesus Christ.
God made ___________________ and sea V. 5-9
Job 38:9-11
God made water to drink and fields producing ____________________ V. 10-18
Verse 15 is a reference to the 3 basic ___________________ of Israel: grapes, olives, and grain that produce wine, oil, and bread.
Deuteronomy 24:19-21
God set processes in motion during creation week that He continues to sustain, a ‘well-oiled machine” that still works despite the impact of human sin on creation. The best responses are to celebrate and _______________________!
God made sun and moon to ________________________ days and seasons V. 19-23
Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God. -Ecclesiastes 2:24
God made life in the seas V. 24-26
God made a world that is vast with many awesome things to discover. God originally made all things good and to orderly live in harmony together, but the fall of man has introduced tragic and _________________ aspects to our earthly experience. Ships can sail and make great discoveries, but also encounter storms and Leviathans that can sink them.
God sustains His creation ________________________ V. 27-30
There’s the good news in verses 27-28 – God’s sustaining power. But there’s also bad news in verse 29 – life on earth also now includes physical ______________________ because of the fall of man.
The best news is in verse 30 – God will have the _____________________ word, not the fall of man. We can trust Him and live to glorify Him!
God rules His world ___________________________ V. 31-35
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my redeemer. -Ps. 19:14
As those who have repented and turned to the LORD, we do well to understand that God will judge those who don’t repent (v. 35). God is glorified when a repentant sinner turns to Him and is saved. But He will ____________________ be glorified through the judgment of those who refuse to repent.
