Psalm 113 Worksheet

Psalms 113-118 go together and are _______________________ during the Jewish Passover Sedar meal. This section is probably the hymn that Jesus and His disciples sang after He introduced the Lord’s Supper (Matthew 26:30). Together they are called the Hallel Psalms, because of the number of times “Halle-lu-YAH” (Praise the LORD) appears.

God’s name is to be praised at all times (v. 2), there are no temporal limitations. God’s name is to be praised in all places (v. 3), there are no __________________________ limitations.

It is important for believers to know that God is _______________________________ from His creation. People often make careless statements like “the Universe was looking out for me,” as if the universe itself had a mind and a kind of personal providential care for people. That kind of thinking goes along with pantheism, that everything is part of god and god is part of everything (like the force in Star Wars). Believers know that God is the personal being above the universe we inhabit, and orders everything in it. He will receive the glory due His name, not some impersonal force.  

The obvious answer to verse 5 is that no one is like the LORD. And yet He humbles Himself and is __________________________ involved with every area of His creation.
