Psalm 114 Worksheet

Sometimes Psalms 113-118 are called the Egyptian Hallel, especially because of Psalm 114’s description of the Exodus from Egypt. Remember that together these Psalms are sung when the _______________________ Sedar meal is observed, which of course celebrates Israel’s deliverance from Egypt.

Verse 1 celebrates God’s Israel’s deliverance from Egyptian bondage, the very _______________________ for the Passover celebration.

The Covenant God                                                                                                                                                                                        V. 7-8

The entire earth is called to tremble at the presence of the Lord. Note the ____________________ emphasis on God’s presence, and the specific naming of the Lord as the God of Jacob.                     -Isaiah 66:1-2

This Psalm refers to the crossing of the Red Sea as Israel left Egypt and the crossing of the Jordan River as Israel entered Canaan. Verse 7 extols others on earth to tremble at the presence of the Lord. Can you think of anyone who did just that as Israel entered the Promised Land?
