The Privilege of Work            2 Thessalonians 3:6-15

We are not talking about people that for whatever reason are unable to work. Over and over again the New Testament encourages us to gladly help those brothers and sisters in Christ.   

Brothers and sisters, don’t go “AWOL” in your _________________

In verse 6 he says withdraw from the brother; In verse 10 he says don’t keep feeding the brother; In verse 14 he says don’t keep company with the brother. I think in all these cases we could add the word, “________________________.”

Carefully maintain ongoing relationship with the disobedient but do not ______________ their disobedience, and don’t consider them in “active” fellowship until they repent and obey the Bible’s teaching.

Galatians 6:1-10

6 Biblical reasons it is a privilege to work:

1.         We _________ the image and likeness of God when we work

Genesis 1:26-28         

2.         Our day of rest and worship means more when we have worked             Genesis 2:1-3

3.         God intends us to enjoy what our work provides for us: it’s a ________________!               Ecclesiastes 5:18-19

4.         Lazy working is a type of theft; having a mind to work is ________________!            Contrast Prov. 18:19 with Neh. 4:6

5.         Work product can allow us to generously meet needs ______________ our own                 Galatians 6:10

6.         Christians really work for God, not their earthy boss – and He will _____________________!

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ.                          -Col. 3:23-24
