Christianity does not disagree with the basic principle that you reap what you sow, but it does not stop there. It is the only religion that truly understands how deeply _______________ has affected the entire world.

The “reap what you sow” principle is not all that there is. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings a far more important truth: mercy and _______________________.

Three ways the gospel changes our view of suffering:

1.         There is a type of suffering _____________ to Christians                        V. 27-30

I Peter 3:17-18a          John 16:33

2.         Christians must stick ______________ for the gospel no matter what they suffer V. 27-28

3.         People and circumstances can degrade the Christian but they can’t take away the Christian’s __________ V. 28
