Praying Like Jesus                  Luke 11:1-13

One thing that is obvious when you read through the gospels is that Jesus prioritized  prayer and modeled a prayer life that appeared as natural as breathing comes to the rest of us!

To pray like Jesus you have to:

Make prayer ___________________ – pray to God as your Father            V. 2a

Do you thus deal with the Lord, O foolish and unwise people? Is He not your Father, who bought you? Has He not made you and established you?                                -Deuteronomy 32:6

Isaiah 63:16                             Psalm 89:26

Make prayer __________________ – pray for God’s rule in all areas        V. 2b-4

I Timothy 2:4                           Galatians 1:14             Ephesians 1:5

I Thessalonians 5:18               I Thessalonians 4:3     I Peter 2:15

Pray for daily _______________ provision – daily bread!

Praying purposefully also means praying for ______________ resolve.

Make prayer persistent and _____________________       V. 5-13

Don’t view coming to God as a presumptuous person coming to a bothered benefactor. Instead picture coming to God as a beloved child coming to their good, good Father!

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and grace to help in time of need.           -Hebrews 4:12

If you focus on your own goodness instead of God-given _________________ you will mess up a lot of things!

All along though there is a best thing the Father wants to give us, but we don’t ask enough – the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit.
