Responding to the Light                     Luke 11:29-36

We don’t like to hear the truth about our lost condition apart from Jesus Christ, but today’s passage will again show how much we need to turn away from making life about us and turn to Jesus and the truth of His Word.

Jesus Himself is the best sign!                                               V. 29-32

But as a Pastor I have often seen that the answers I have learned to give often are more helpful in boosting the confidence of those who have already believed or are very close to believing than actually bringing _________________ unbelievers to faith.

Two things are happening here when Christ refers to Jonah the prophet as a sign.

First, the ____________________ of Jonah was the sign.

Second, the __________________ of Jonah was the sign.

On Judgment Day God is going to deal with men according to the light they have had and the light they have rejected. You can be sure of this – God will never allow a man to be lost who _______ to be saved!

Jesus is the Light _____________ eyes respond to!             V. 33-36

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”                 John 8:12

The problem was their spiritual perception, not a lack of light. They didn’t need a sign, they needed to believe! It was all about _______________________ in faith! It still is!
