The Traits of a Model Church            I Thess. 1:1-10

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.      -I Thess. 5:23-24

Greetings & Thanksgiving                                                     V. 1-2

Thessalonica was the capitol of Macedonia and its largest city. It’s nickname was the “___________________ of all Macedonia.”

The word for church is ekklesia, a compound word from ek -out, and kaleo – called. The church is made up of those whom God has “called out” of the world.

Charis (grace) goes beyond charein (greetings) in highlighting the unmerited __________________ given to the believer in Christ at salvation that continues to operate in their life now!

Three Traits of model Christians, model churches:

1.         A __________________________ faith

 “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”             -John 6:29

And here is where I and 2^nd Thessalonians is such a blessing – _______ chapter has a reference to the blessed hope of the believer!
