Exodus Chapter 9

Here’s what we have learned through the first four plagues…

The Fifth Plague: The gods of _________________ are dealt with                   V. 1-7

Hathor           Bat                  Apis                Buchis                        Mneuis

The fact that livestock were still Egyptian alive to make it to the seventh plague must have meant that there were _________________ Egyptians taking seriously Yahweh’s voice and moved their livestock to shelter. The other possibility is that after this plague the Israelites sold some livestock to the Egyptians.

Pharaoh’s action in verse 7 makes him all the more “without _______________” when he refuses to repent. The same thing is true for those of us who are not acting on Bible Truth we read and hear taught!

The Sixth Plague: The gods of pestilence are dealt with                          V. 8-12

Sekhmet                               Isis                              Im-Hotep

How do we reconcile the times Pharaoh hardened his heart with these times it says that the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart?

Pharaoh did exactly what he wanted to, and the LORD let him. The same thing happens in Romans chapter 1 where 3 times (verses 24, 26, 28) God’s response to those bound and determined to sin against Him is “to give them up and/or over” to the practice of those sins and let them experience the ___________  _______ consequences of those sins. Thankfully God giving them up and/or over to their sins is not the same as God giving up on them – He will welcome to Himself those who turn to Him (Ezekiel 18:32).

The Seventh Plague: The gods of the sky are dealt with                          V. 13-35

Nut                 Shu                 Tefnut            Seth

Pharaoh represents every proud sinner who exalts himself and needs to be ___________________ by God.

But with God even as judgment is coming there are ________________ to repent.

There are always those who fear the Word of the Lord and those who disregard the Word of the Lord – and in the end the ____________________ will be plain.
