Behold He Comes!

As chapter 7 begins, Daniel tells us about a vision he had received during the first year of the reign of Belshazzar (553 BC).

Sometimes when we are dissatisfied with our job or life God does His greatest speaking to us and THROUGH us.

The visions of prophecy that God started giving Daniel in the days of Belshazzar are among the most _____________ in the Old Testament.

Four Great Beasts in World History                                      V. 1-8

Just like in chapter 2, the first beast is Babylon; the second is Medo-Persia; the third is Greece; the Fourth is Rome.

Even though the fourth beast is obviously Rome, we see details about the fourth kingdom that cannot be said to have been fulfilled YET.

More on the fourth beast                                                     V. 19-25

In chapter 9 Daniel gives an amazingly accurate prophecy about the timing of Messiah being killed in His first coming; but here he is speaking about the very end of things when Christ comes to set up His 1,000 year reign on earth, a reign that will also feature the saints somehow ruling WITH Him.

Behold He comes!                                                                  V. 9-14

Remember that Daniel sees all of these things in the middle of the first kingdom, 500 years before Jesus Christ’s first coming!

The RAPTURE is us going up and meeting Christ in the air, the second coming is Christ coming down to earth to rule and us coming with Him.

Passages in the book of Revelation

The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast.                  -Rev. 17:12

3 Points of Application:

God will reveal to you the most about His strength when you feel the WEAKEST - if you let Him!

We’ve read the middle of the book and the end of the book and God WINS – be sure that you are in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Remember that the big stuff and the small stuff is both in the book that God is keeping – be FAITHFUL in both the big stuff and the small details.
