Put Off, Put On, Put In, Pour Into

Read Colossians 3:1-17    Put Off, Put On, Put In, Pour Into          Let’s Pray!

Put Off the deeds of your old sinful nature                                                  V. 5-11

We are called to love God and one another – undealt with sin messes up our fellowship with God and with one another, whereas doing what God says brings us closer to God and one another.

Put on the deeds perfectly modeled by Jesus                                             V. 12-15

“Unforgiveness is a poison you drink hoping another will die.”

Put IN the Word of Christ and pour INTO one another                             V. 16-17

Him we preach, warning (admonishing) every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect (mature) in Christ Jesus.                                                       -Colossians 1:28

The word admonish is the same word as the one in 1:28 that spoke of warning (Noutheteo). All Christians are called to teach and admonish their fellow believers, pouring into them encouragement and exhortation from the Bible.
