Don’t cling to your expectations

Unfortunately, we often stop and cling to the wrong things in life and get distracted from God’s call on our life.

In this life we struggle not to cling to things that by their very nature are temporary compared to eternity.

Read John 20:11-18

Don’t cling to your temporary expectations            Let’s Pray!

Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?”                 -Matthew 27:46b

He said, “It is finished!” (Greek = tetelestai). And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.                        -John 19:30b

From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He MUST go to Jerusalem and SUFFER many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be KILLED, and be RAISED the third day.       -Matthew 16:21

But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”                                                                                       -Matthew 16:27

Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written, “I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.” But AFTER I HAVE BEEN RAISED, I WILL GO BEFORE YOU TO GALILEE.”                  -Matthew 26:31-32

Life is a series of temporary assignments – don’t cling so hard to your comfortable life that you aren’t willing to make changes you need to make for greater service to Jesus.
