The Gospel Changes How We View Our Circumstances
Philippians 1:12-20
Most of us are up or down in our spirit ______________________ on whether circumstances are going our way or not. That’s our normal way of viewing things; but the gospel changes our normal way of viewing things!
The gospel reminds us that Jesus Himself faced the ____________ circumstances when He died on the cross for the sins of the world.
Three ways the gospel helps us view our circumstances:
1. Facing bad circumstances with gospel perspective gives us ___________________ to share God’s love we would not have had otherwise V. 12-13
2. Facing bad circumstances with gospel perspective _______________ other believers to persevere in their walk and witness V. 14
3. Facing bad circumstances with gospel perspective allows us to rejoice in the ____________________ of other Christians V. 15-18
Paul is not talking about false teachers who preach a false gospel.
He would not rejoice that their message was getting out!
In fact, in Galatians 1:8 he said that even if he brought a false gospel message to them, they should ___________________________ him!
Are you able to ____________________ other’s success in what really matters even as you face bad circumstances?
Paul understood that there is so much to be done for Jesus Christ in this world that ______________ is never a good thing.
His only interest was __________________ with others who also wanted to be faithful to Jesus and fruitful for Jesus.
