Shine like the stars             Daniel 11:36-12:13

The Purpose of the Book of Daniel is to exhort the Jews to be faithful to God during the turbulent Times of the Gentiles (Lk. 21:24) and trust God for a future worldwide Messianic rule from Israel in keeping with His unfailing PROMISES.   

Throughout the Book of Daniel we have seen him given 2 main sets of prophecies:

The first set of prophecies are about events from the reigns of Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome that have already been historically fulfilled, including the crucifixion of Christ and the Fall of Jerusalem in AD 70.

The second set of prophecies are about the FUTURE events that will happen in the last seven years of the times of the Gentiles, featuring a revived Roman Empire and their Antichrist leader, and its destruction when The Messiah comes to rule.

Daniel is given more information about the ANTICHRIST                          11:36-39

I John 2:18            Matthew 24:15    2 Thess. 2:3, 8      Revelation 13:1, 19:9

Daniel 9:27 indicates the last seven-year period of the times of the Gentiles will BEGIN when the Antichrist confirms a covenant treaty. It could even be one of the peace accords that has already been written but never implemented. 

Daniel is given more information about End Times BATTLES                    11:40-45

The Bible seems to describe two different end time wars around Megiddo. The last one involves the Antichrist and the armies of the world being defeated by Christ at His return in Revelation 19. An earlier battle described in Ezekiel 38-39 seems to show something like Russia and an Islamic Coalition being defeated, probably by the Antichrist and his European forces. If that is what Daniel is describing, it would help the Antichrist gain Israel’s TRUST toward the beginning of the seven year tribulation when the covenant is confirmed.   

The Great Tribulation and the AGES to come                                               12:1-13

Daniel 12 corresponds to Revelation 12, and MICHAEL the great Archangel appears in both, battling with Satan for Israel!

Our prayer should be that when the Tribulation time comes, Jews will first turn to the Book of Daniel, and then turn to the Book of Revelation and then turn to JESUS and get their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life!
