Alien Nation              I Peter 2:11-12

It is a sad reality that too often non-Christians see the lives professing Christians lead and don’t want anything to do with Jesus…because of _____________.

3 Challenges for Christians as they interact with non-Christians:

1.         Don’t ______________ who you are in Christ       V. 11a

The word for dear friends here is Agapetoi, a form of the word Agape. It is better translated “___________________”

Peter reminds them they are resident aliens: Christians are foreigners anywhere they are because their __________ citizenship is in Heaven!

2.         Don’t be known for the ____________ things        V. 11b

Here Gentiles is not a racial thing, but a synonym for non-Christians. Lost people are looking for reasons to continue to reject the gospel – don’t be their reason; be the reason they _____________ the gospel!

Matthew 5:16

The day of visitation is the day on which worldly people will be judged. For when our lives are laid bare, it will become apparent that the truth is the very opposite of what they suspected, and not only will they be ashamed, they will also be punished, and God will be glorified.                       -Oecumenius (6^th century)
